Mid-August I was attacked by the Shingles virus, medically called the Herpers Zoster virus. Valtrex quickly drove the virus into remission, but the painful nerve damage continues for up to six months and sometimes becomes chronic. My analogy is that it's like the worst sunburn ever with someone randomly snapping a rubber band on one's skin. Thanks to Gabapentin and some cannabis cream I think I'm beginning to crawl out of the pit of pain. Hopefully I can return to my photography projects after I get back from Oakland this weekend.
For anyone reading this, if you haven't gotten a Shingles vaccine, get it now. It's the worst pain I've suffered ever, including a broken leg, ankle, or cutting myself with a radial arm saw.
